University in submitting aTitle V proposal which included funding for an expansion of the existing Center, new furnitureand equipment, and a full-time coordinator. In 2008 the proposal was awarded and planning forthe new site commenced at the beginning of 2009. The new site opened in January 2010 andwas re-dedicated in February accompanied by much fanfare, including a note of congratulationfrom our State Senator.Although the expansion and remodeling project met with typical setbacks, these were minorcompared to the challenges encountered in our efforts to hire the now much-needed full-timeCoordinator for the MESA Center.
