Initially, the main objective is to establish a risk-based decision tool, which specifies important safety requirements of road tunnels (e.g.ventilation systems). Itis designed for students who do not wish to continue on to a doctorate leading to an academiccareer but rather to enter the workforce with a master’s degree, a degree now viewed by many ashaving displaced the baccalaureate as the terminal engineering degree.
