one design situation togenerating more innovative or radical ideas in another design situation is an indication of theircapability for being flexible in their design approaches.In idea generation, a measure of flexibility can be thought of as the ability to apply a range ofapproaches, choosing the approach that best aligns with particular situational characteristics (asopposed to applying the same approach regardless of alignment with particular situationalcharacteristics).
