In many cases, though, modernassessment has relied far too heavily on student opinions as though it were a comprehensiveassessment of teaching effectiveness and student learning [2], when in fact, there are numerousapproaches to evaluate teaching more holistically. Other common strategies for teachingevaluation include peer observation (by fellow faculty members), external review (often byexperienced teaching and learning professionals), and self-evaluation.
